Our Vision, Our Mission, & Our Beliefs
VISION
A fellowship of inspired saints loving God and loving people.
MISSION STATEMENT
We are committed to loving God with all our heart, to loving people unconditionally, to maintaining spiritual integrity and to being a light in a world of darkness. This mission is accomplished by:
Enthusiastically worshipping and praising God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ individually and as a congregation.
Effective, biblically-based teaching and training of the saints of God to be willing ambassadors for Christ.
Encouraging, supporting and kindly admonishing one another in our journey toward spiritual maturity.
Enthusiastically reaching out to the lost in a nonjudgmental manner, reflecting a genuine love for the unsaved.
Effectively ministering to the needs of the members of the fellowship and the surrounding community.
Eagerly supporting the vision and ministry ordained of God with our prayers, our dedication, and our contributions of time, talents, gifts and financial resources.
OUR BELIEFS
GOD: We believe that there is but one living, true and eternal God, the Father of whom are all things, from everlasting to everlasting, glorious and immutable in all his attributes.
JESUS CHRIST: We believe that there is one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, whom God freely sent into the world, because of the great love wherewith He loved the world; and Christ freely gave Himself a ransom for all, tasting death for all men; who was buried and rose again the third day and ascended into heaven, from whence we look for Him the second time, in the clouds of heaven, at the last day, to judge both the quick and dead.
HOLY SPIRIT: The Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an Intelligent Being. He guides, knows, moves, gives information, commands, forbids, sends forth, reproves, and can be sinned against. The attributes of God are ascribed to the Holy Spirit. The works of God are ascribed to the Holy Spirit; creation, inspiration, giving of life, and sanctification. The apostles assert that the Holy Spirit is Lord and God. From the foregoing, the conclusion is that the Holy Spirit is in reality God, and one with the Father in all-divine perfections. It has also been shown that Jesus Christ is God—one with the Father. Then these three: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are one God.
MAN: We believe that in the beginning God made man upright and placed him in a state of glory without the least mixture of misery, from which he voluntarily, by transgression fell, and by that means brought on himself a miserable and mortal state, subject to death.
THE SCRIPTURES: We believe the whole scriptures (Old and New Testament) are infallibly true and that they are the only rules of faith and practice.
SALVATION: We believe that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance unto salvation, for which end Christ has commanded the gospel to be preached among all nations and to every creature. We believe that no man can scripturally be justified before God through his own works, power, or ability. For by grace are ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves.
GENERAL PROVISION: We believe in the doctrine of general provision made of God in Christ, for the benefit of all mankind who repents and believes the gospel.
JUSTIFICATION: Personal justification implies that the person justified has been guilty before God; and, in consideration of the atonement of Christ, accepted by faith, the sinner is pardoned and absolved from the guilt of sin and restored to divine favor. Christ’s atonement is the foundation of the sinner’s redemption, yet, without repentance and faith, it can never give him justification and peace with God.
SANCTIFICATION: Sanctification is the continuing of God’s grace by which the Christian may constantly grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS: There are strong grounds to hope that the truly regenerate will persevere unto the end, and be saved, through the power of divine grace which is pledged for their support; but their future obedience and final salvation are neither determined nor certain, since through infirmity and manifold temptations they are in danger of falling; and they ought therefore to watch and pray, lest they make shipwreck of their faith and be lost.
GOSPEL ORDINANCES: We believe as touching Gospel ordinances in believers’ baptism, laying on of hands, receiving of the sacraments in bread and wine (grape juice), washing the saints’ feet, anointing the sick with oil in the name of the Lord, fasting, praying, singing praises to God, and the public ministry of the Word with every institution of the Lord that we shall find in the New Testament. We believe that the gospel mode of baptism is by immersion and that believers are the only subjects for baptism.
RESURRECTION: We believe in the first and second resurrection of the dead and a final judgment at the last day.
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST: The Lord Jesus, who ascended on high, and sits at the right hand of God will come again, to close the Gospel dispensation, glorify His saints, and judge the world.
